Jerry C. Jaques
President Chief Executive Officer
Jerry C. Jaques formed Riverwood in 1993 from Parkside Senior Services where he had been employed since 1986. At Parkside he was responsible for developing southeast operations into the company's largest region, providing continuing care retirement community management services to more than 1,800 independent living units and 400 skilled nursing beds. From 1975 to 1986, Mr. Jaques was employed by Beverly Enterprises (a large proprietary nursing home/retirement company), where his responsibilities included management of over 1,350 units.
A business administration graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Jaques holds a nursing home administration license in Florida and North Carolina. He is a member of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and is an evaluator for the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission.
Lester R. Barker, MA, RHPF Vice President
A recognized authority in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement systems, Les Barker's extensive multi-facility experience adds another dimension of depth to the management team at Riverwood.
Prior to joining RMI, Mr. Barker was employed by Parkside Senior Services, where he served as Associate Executive Director in 1990 and Executive Director commencing in 1991 of John Knox Village of Central Florida. A former nursing home and ACLF owner, Mr. Barker has served as Regional manager and Director of Operations for multi-facility, long-term care companies, managing 1,622 units.
Mr. Barker holds a Masters Degree from the University of South Florida and is certified by the American Association of Homes for the Aging as a Retirement Housing Professional. In addition, he has completed the required course work for CPA certification.
Alexia Pozar, CPA, MBA Vice President of Operations
A renowned industry consultant, Alexia Pozar brings over 25 years of healthcare and senior living experience to Riverwood. Throughout her career, Ms. Pozar has held positions as Director of Operations, Vice President of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer with Dixon Hughes, PLLC and other well-known industry leaders. Her experience includes operational assessments, financial forecasting and benchmarking, strategic and financial planning, and Board education and development seminars. Ms. Pozar is known for her keen insight in recognizing operating inefficiencies and leading operating teams in the process of finding more efficient methods of business practice. She is knowledgeable of Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance reimbursement and accounting requirements regarding CCRC's, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities and other retirement housing projects.
Alexia is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College with a BA degree in business and a Master of Business Administration and is a member of the AICPA, licensed in several states. She has served as acting Executive Director and Turnaround Specialist in certain CCRC facilities during the course of her career and has presented at numerous industry conferences.
Kelly Ciccone, RN Director of Risk Management and Clinical Services
Kelly Ciccone is responsible for providing nurse consulting services for long-term and assisted living facilities with specialized focus on regulatory compliance, Medicare utilization, assessment of quality of care indicators and staff development and education programs. Ms. Ciccone's multi-faceted and extensive nursing background includes more than twenty years of both clinical, administrative and management experience. Ms. Ciccone served as Director of Clinical Services with CPI Consulting Services between 1992-2010 where she developed policies and programs, managed clinical systems, and facilitated regulatory compliance projects. Her experience includes regional clinical consulting assignments with HCR/ Manor and Northport Health where she served roles as regional nurse consultant and intensive intervention specialist for multiple facilities. Her professional consulting experience includes extensive travel assignments to several states for focused audit projects, intensive intervention projects, regulatory compliance and litigation resolution.
Ms. Ciccone, a Florida Registered Nurse, holds a registered nurse license in Florida and Tennessee. She attended college in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the University of Tennessee and Chattanooga State as well as Edmonson's Business College. She completed her certification for Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse as well as Certified Insurance Rehabilitation Nurse. She completed her certification as an instructor for CPR in Sebastian, Florida. Ms. Ciccone is also an approved Provider of Continuing Education through the Florida Board of Nursing.
Elizabeth Hinds Director of Fiscal Services
A veteran of the industry since 1980, Elizabeth Hinds joined Riverwood in 2003 and is responsible for accounting management and software support services in addition to providing financial oversight for project development, cost analyses and budgeting. Prior to joining Riverwood, Ms. Hinds held both corporate and regional finance and accounting positions with Crowne Investments, Beverly Enterprises, Delta Health Care Group, and other multi-facility long-term care companies.
Ms. Hinds is Core Certified for ALF administration, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and is a member of the American College Healthcare Executives and the Institute of Management Accountants.
